So Let’s Begin Again
It’s been more than 2 months since my last blog. I’ve started journaling again but otherwise not writing outside of email and regular correspondance. I find that blogging helps me on at least two fronts; First, it helps me flesh out and clarify some things I’m learning or thinking about. Next, it puts my ideas out there where anyone can read them and challenge me as to their veracity and relevance. They also can remind me of what I said.
The writer of Proverbs said life and death are in the power of the tongue. Could this be true about the keyboard as well?

Hey Bob. Your thinking about blogging is right on track. I agree with both elements of what blogging does. I believe that doing this adds validity to our thinking and helps to maintain integrity in our lives and leadership.
It really is encouraging when others actually DO respond to our writing – even if they do not always agree. A healthful exchange of ideas helps everyone to grow. The balance of keeping comments free and open – while still staying on topic and remaining civil – is sometimes difficult to do. You have done a good job in opening yourself to review and your readers have been courteous and helpful in their responses.
The problem is developing and maintaining an active group of readers. Researchers say that a blogger must produce at least one article per week to maintain a good readership. And, the more frequent the writing (generally), the more loyal the readers.
My http://chiefshepherd.com blog has been active for about three years and only this year is my readership consistently above 20-30 per day. But I, like you, have a tendency to stretch the time between articles.
